This stamp depicts a striped marlin sword-fish, one of several species of big-game fish to be found in New Zealand waters, leaping from the water after being hooked. The rock on the left is Piercy Island, near Cape Brett, a famous fishing-ground for sword-fish and the fierce mako shark.
